An extremely rigid aluminum cone ensures clean piston motion, even at high excursion levels, and supports efficient heat transfer during continuous high-power operation. A newly optimized outer surround provides stable cone guidance and improved large-signal handling.
The reinforced, die-cast aluminum chassis offers high mechanical rigidity and extensive ventilation. Additional venting through the cone neck reduces air compression and distortion. The low airflow velocity inside the chassis minimizes audible noise.
The motor system incorporates two internal aluminum shorting rings that stabilize the magnetic field and significantly reduce distortion at high output levels. A large motor assembly with a two-inch voice coil and a 145-millimeter magnet delivers precise control and high efficiency.
The voice coil is wound on a heavy-duty fiberglass former to reduce mechanical losses and improve dynamic response and low-level detail reproduction. A four-layer voice coil enhances control further and supports operation in compact enclosures.
